Toward Others’ Good

Jesus’ way is not lording over others but lifting them up. Service, for Jesus, is not merely occasional acts of kindness; it is a posture of the heart—a life oriented toward the good of others. In Mark 10, Jesus contrasts worldly power and control with Kingdom greatness: “whoever would be great among you must be your servant.” The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many. From washing feet to embracing the cross, Jesus modeled sacrificial love. Kingdom people do not seek power over others; they use whatever influence they have to help others flourish.
