A Simple Prayer for America’s 250th Birthday

Lord God, today we give you praise for the 250th birthday of the United States of America. We do not take this blessing for granted. We thank you for those who came before us—the men and women of wisdom, courage, and vision who helped establish this nation and its pursuit of liberty.

We thank you for those who have served, sacrificed, and worked for the good of others. We also humbly acknowledge our failures and ask for your mercy. May the years ahead be our better years—years of greater wisdom, healing, justice, freedom, and faithfulness that bring glory to you and good to the world.

Amen.
