Trampling the Dirt

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4). What a God—welcoming me into his presence, urging me to hand him all that unsettles my heart. The Hebrew word דָּרַשׁ (“to seek”) pictures beating a pathway toward him—trampling the dirt, moving with earnestness, even haste. Whatever burdens my soul, may I be found wearing out that trail. With him is solace. With him is shalom. With him I am safe from all alarms. That can be your story, too.
