Keeping Score, Giving Grace
Jesus once told a parable about a generous vineyard owner who paid all his workers the same wage, regardless of how long they worked. Those hired early grumbled, feeling it unfair. The owner reminded them of his right to be generous. This challenges us: Are we grace-givers, charitable toward others, or scorekeepers, fearful of losing? Scorekeepers track fairness, compare outcomes, and live by rigid expectations. Grace-givers, however, act with generosity, free from comparison, lavishly reflecting God’s mercy and love. Like Jesus, they give without condition. So, which are you?
