God Brings the Fire

Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal, preparing an altar with precision and trust in God’s power. He used twelve stones, laid wood, sacrificed a bull, and soaked everything with water—then prayed for God to reveal Himself. God responded with consuming fire, proving His sovereignty. Elijah’s role was preparation; God brought the power. The lesson is clear: our calling is not to manufacture results, but to faithfully prepare, serve, and trust God to act. In a culture obsessed with spectacle, we’re reminded to gather stones, arrange the altar, pray—and then step back, allowing God to bring the fire and the glory.
