Do You Not Care?

The storm hit fast — wind screaming, waves rising, water pouring into the boat. And Jesus slept. Not because he didn't care, but because he had nothing to fear. The disciples woke him with a question many of us have prayed: do you not care that we are perishing? He stood, spoke three words — "Peace, be still" — and the storm obeyed instantly. The same voice that spoke creation into order still speaks into our chaos. Whatever storm you're in tonight, the One in the boat with you is not indifferent. He is sovereign, and he is near. Wake him with your cry. He always answers.
