Of Whom the World is Not Worthy

Share

O God of Heaven I thank you
That in my place of comfort and security
I lead, in the Spirit for sure,
But with my belly full
An arsenal of tools
And degrees on my wall

But God of Heaven I know
Who the real heroes are
Women and men stepping out with pangs of hunger
To do your bidding
Flung across the world with no arsenal of tools
No books or degrees or ease
Dust on their feet
Oppression in the street
No sufficiency but the Spirit and the Word

O God of Heaven I know
These are those of whom the world is not worthy
And from my place of peace
I declare it so
And with all sobriety
Remember them
As a way to honor You.
